Dr. Bhavana Muralidharan is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), Bangalore, India. Her lab focuses on chromatin regulation in neurodevelopment and its disruption in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) and employs an integrative, multimodal approach, combining functional genomics, mouse models, and iPSC-derived cerebral organoids to investigate mechanisms underlying chromatinopathies and NDDs.
Her team has published significant findings on the molecular mechanisms of human neurogenesis (Channakkar et al., 2024) and disrupted neurodevelopmental trajectories in iPSC-derived cerebral organoids from bipolar disorder patients (Phalnikar et al., 2024).
These accomplishments have established her as an emerging leader in neurodevelopmental research and earned her prestigious recognitions, including the EMBO Global Investigator Award and the Har Gobind Khorana Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award from DBT, India.
