Dr. Tae-Eun Park is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in Korea since 2017. She earned her bachelor's degree in Animal Biotechnology in 2011 and her Ph.D. in 2015, both from Seoul National University. During her doctoral studies, she specialized in developing tissue barrier models and drug delivery systems. From 2015 to 2017, Dr. Park pursued postdoctoral research at the Wyss Institute at Harvard Medical School under the mentorship of Prof. Donald E. Ingber. Her research focuses on developing organ-mimetic systems, with a particular emphasis on human tissue barriers, to advance novel drug discovery and delivery strategies. Leveraging microfluidic and stem cell-based approaches, her work aims to replicate and overcome gut barriers.
