As a cardiovascular surgeon and bioengineer, Dr. Hsieh focuses his research on cardiovascular regeneration, cancer nanomedicine, microbiota and metabolism, iPSC technologies and translational research. He is the principle investigator of several flagship projects in Taiwan, and leads the Taiwan iPSC Consortium, the Taiwan Tissue Chip Project and the Taiwan Precision Regenerative Medicine project, working on establishing Taiwan’s superdonor iPSC cell bank for clinical cell therapy. Dr. Hsieh has received many awards and honors, and was recognized as a top translational researcher by Nature Biotechnology. Dr. Hsieh has published 115 scientific papers, filed 30 international patents, started up two companies, collaborated with global biopharmas (Gilead, AstraZeneca, Celgene, Takeda & Moderna) and has applied his research results into clinical therapy for cardiovascular regenerative medicine.
