Pia Cosma is Senior Scientist and ICREA Professor at the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG), where she serves as coordinator of the Systems and Synthetic Biology Program. Marie Curie Excellence awardee in 2005, Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2007, Barcelona City Prize awardee in 2015, La Caixa Health 2018 and 2024 awardee, Professor Joaquín Barraquer awardee in 2023. ERC stGrant awardee in 2009 and HFSP Grant awardee in 2010. She is EMBO Member since 2010. Coordinator of the FET-Open project CellWiewer and currently of the EIC Pathfinder project EcaBox. EIC Woman Leadership Programme awardee in 2022. Cosma’s group has the main objective to investigate the controlling mechanisms of stem cell maintenance, the reprogramming of somatic cells, and tissue regeneration.
