Misao Fujita is a Professor at the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA) and the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Biology (ASHBi) at Kyoto University. Since 2013, she has headed the Uehiro Research Division for iPS Cell Ethics at CiRA and has served as ASHBi Vice Director since 2024. She is a Member of the ISSCR Ethics Committee, the UNESCO International Bioethics Committee, and the Cabinet Office’s Expert Panel on Bioethics. Her group conducts empirical studies on topics, including the creation of chimeric animals and germ cells using human iPS cells and unproven interventions. They examine regulatory frameworks, policies, public attitudes, and practices to develop practical solutions to ethical challenges.
