Xin Cheng, PI at the Excellence in Molecular Cell Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, earned his PhD from Mount Sinai, NYU, and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Xin Cheng‘s research focuses on differentiating human stem cells into clinically relevant cell lineages and reconstructing tissues and organs in vitro. He established the first human germ layer-specific stem cell line, the "Human Endoderm Stem Cell Line," (Cheng et al., Cell Stem Cell, 2012) and developed an internationally leading system for in vitro regeneration of pancreatic and liver tissues using EnSC. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as Cell Stem Cell, Cell Res, Nature Commun, and Cell Disc.
