Kazuto Kato, Ph.D. is a Professor at the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Osaka, specializing in Biomedical Ethics and Public Policy. He completed his Ph.D. in Biophysics at Kyoto University and has held various research and academic positions, including at the University of Cambridge and Kyoto University. Professor Kato is also an Academic Affiliate at the University of Oxford and has served on numerous bioethics committees, including the WHO and ISSCR. His work focuses on the ethical implications of biomedical research and technology. Additionally, he is a member of several academic committees, such as the Ethics and Governance Committee of the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC-ARGO) and the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Genomics. Currently, he is the Chair of the Ethics Committee of the ISSCR.
