Stem Cell Reports Author
Dr. Wei Jiang is currently a professor at Medical Research Institute, Wuhan University. He obtained his Ph.D degree in 2010 at Peking University and received postdoctral training at UNC-CH and HMS. His laboratory aims to apply the basic knowledge from fundamental developmental biology and genetics/epigenetics to stem cell lineage differentiation, with the hope to uncover the molecule mechanism underlying diseases. Using the human pluripotent stem cell differentiation system, Dr. Jiang has identified a series of regulators that affect the differentiation of human endoderm, including long noncoding RNAs (HIDEN, DEANR1, GATA6-AS1), endogenous retroviral elements, fatty acid metabolism, as well as the epigenetic factors (KDM6, PCGF6). He has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers including Dev Cell, Nat Commun, Genome Biol, Stem Cell Rep in last five years.
