Ying Zhang obtained her bachelor’s degree in engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China in 2014. She was then awarded an Oversees Research Scholarship for her PhD study in Neurology at University College London. Her thesis showed that a few of novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of gliomas could be drug targets. Then she joined the Fracis Crick Institute in 2018 for postdoctoral training with Alex Gould. In 2019, she was awarded for a Sir Henry Wellcome Fellowship to support her research in understanding the mechanism of brain sparing in mammals.
