Asuka Morizane is originally a neurosurgeon and obtained a PhD at Kyoto University, Japan in 2004. He worked as a posdoc at Prof. Patrik Brundin’s Lab in Lund University, Sweden (2006-8). He worked as an associate professor at Prof. Jun Takahashi's lab in the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University until 2021. Since 2021, he has been the director of the Department of Regenerative Medicine, Center for Clinical Research and Innovation, Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital, working for translational and reverse-translational research. He also works for the clinical set-up of cell therapy in the hospital. Since 2024, he has also been the Director of the Center for Cell Therapy in Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital.
