Stanford University, United States
Dr. Lauren Goins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Developmental Biology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Her lab investigates how hematopoietic progenitors integrate extracellular cues with intracellular division machinery to make fate decisions and produce diverse blood cell types. Using Drosophila melanogaster and advanced live imaging, her team uncovers conserved mechanisms of blood development and integrates findings with mammalian systems.
Dr. Goins earned her BA from Harvard College and conducted HIV/AIDS vaccine research at Dana Farber. She completed her PhD at UCSF studying the actin cytoskeleton, and her postdoctoral work at UCLA focused on visualizing hematopoiesis in vivo. Her research bridges developmental biology and stem cell biology to advance our understanding of blood formation in health and disease.
