Dr. Jean Paul Chadarevian is a postdoctoral researcher in the Mathew Blurton-Jones lab at UCI MIND. During his PhD studies, Dr. Chadarevian investigated the therapeutic potential for microglia replacement in animal models of neurodegeneration, developing an inhibitor-resistant approach to achieve CNS-wide microglial replacement with iPSC-derived microglia. His current work builds off these efforts to engineer human microglia to deliver CNS-wide therapeutic peptides in a pathology-responsive manner and identify alternative and less-invasive routes for microglial transplantation.
