Jeng-Fan Lo, PhD, works as a Distinguished Professor at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan. His team studies the biology of stemness, adipose-wasting, muscle atrophy, and solid tumors, including head and neck cancer and hepatocellular cell carcinoma, to help identify novel targets and therapeutic regimens for various human diseases, including cancer, ageing, and obesity.
Dr. Lo grew up in Taiwan and later moved to the U.S. to receive his PhD at the University of Illinois. In 2000, he moved to The Scripps Research Institute in California to pursue his postdoctoral training in studying the carcinogenesis of breast cancer. In 2005, Dr. Lo joined NYCU as a tenure-track Associate Professor; then was promoted to Full Professor in 2011 and Distinguished Professor in 2019.
