Holds a Ph.D. in Medicine and Translational Research and has over 12 years of experience in reproductive health. His work lies at the intersection of fundamental science and clinical applications, bridging the gap between research and therapeutic development to address the molecular and cellular basis of disease, including those with immunological origins. Currently, he serves as the Director of Analytical and Therapeutic Development at Gameto, where he specializes in developing cutting-edge therapeutics for women’s reproductive health.
Prior to joining Gameto, Dr. Barrachina conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he explored the immune mechanisms underlying infertility and kidney disease. His Ph.D. research at the University of Barcelona focused on identifying new diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for male infertility, uncovering epigenetic alterations in oncological patients with testicular cancer, and exploring the role of seminal extracellular vesicles as protein delivery vehicles with potential therapeutic applications for improving male infertility. His work has contributed valuable insights to the field of reproductive medicine.
