I am Sun Yi, a PhD student in the Christopher Antos lab at ShanghaiTech University. My research focuses on vertebrate appendage development and regeneration using zebrafish as a model. My colleagues and I recently identified a mechanism that RA (retinoic acid)-regulated RCAN2 controls potassium levels to regulate zebrafish embryonic fin bud development and adult fin regeneration. Currently, my research focuses on how does potassium level regulate downstream transcriptional programs to control fin development, regeneration, and even regenerative polarity.
