Dr. Su-Yi Tsai is a Professor in the Department of Life Science at National Taiwan University, where she leads a research program focused on cardiac development and heart diseases using human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. Her work integrates stem cell models, gene editing, and biochemical approaches to uncover molecular mechanisms underlying cardiomyopathies and metabolic diseases. Notably, Dr. Tsai’s research has elucidated the distinct roles of glycogen metabolism and the regulatory networks controlling sarcomere assembly in human cardiomyocytes.
She has authored multiple publications in high-impact journals, including Nature Communications, Circulation Research, and Cell Reports. Her contributions have been recognized through national research grants and the Wu Huo-Shih Medical Award.
