Glyn was originally a microbiologist and cancer researcher. He also worked as a cell therapy specialist at the UK regulatory body (MHRA) where he focusesd on safety and quality issues in cell therapy and was Director for the UK Stem Celll Bank. Over more than 30 years, Glyn has maintained a strong interest in improvement of standards in cell culture and cryopreservation methods. He has been an advisor on numerous UK, EU and Asian research programmes and boards, to the WHO. More recently he has supported developments in banking of pluripotent stem cells and initiated the International Stem Cell Banking Initiative (www.iscbi.org) in 2007. His work as advisor to various government agencies has included the Chinese National Stem Cell Resource Center and the Beijing Institute for Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine, and InStem Bangalore. He is also currently supporting early product developers in trhe stem cell feild like iPSCBio in Korea and teh EBiSC iPSC biobank fror disease modelling (Fraunhofer Research UK).
