Dr. Zi Ying Tan is a stem cell biologist with domain expertise in pluripotent stem cell signaling, pluripotency, and directed differentiation. She holds a Ph.D. in Stem Cell Biology from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Dr. Tan previously worked as a Senior Scientist in Roslin Tech, where she led media development and bioprocess optimization efforts for scalable, serum-free and food-grade media. Earlier in her career, she worked at WuXi Biologics in Hangzhou, where she focused on developing cells-based asssay as analytical quality control tools for biologics—integrating biomanufacturing precision with cells-based innovation. She is currently the co-founder of M3TRIQ, a startup accelerating R&D in cellular agriculture using AI-enabled media intelligence and molecular discovery to design de novo peptides aimed at improving cell growth and differentiation performance—essentially unlocking more cost-effective, high-performance media ingredients. Dr. Tan is passionate about combining computational and wet lab experimental approaches to unlock next-generation media cost innovation potential.
