Dr. Wei Du is a tenured Associate Professor at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and a member of Genome Stability Program at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. She is also a Leukemia &Lymphoma Society (LLS) Scholar (2025~2030). Dr. Du has a broad background in hematopoiesis, stem cell biology & aging, with specific training and expertise in DNA damage response/repair, mouse modeling, metabolite profiling and in vivo disease modeling. Her current research is focused on hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) and bone marrow (BM) niche interaction; interplay between DNA damage and immune response; systemic effects of persistent DNA damage in aging. Her work has been published in Journals including Blood, JCI, Nat Communications, Leukemia and so on. Her lab is currently supported by R01 grants from NCI, NIA, and NHLBI.
