PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am a stem cell biologist fascinated by the complex regulatory networks, which mediate developmental progression. During my research career I uncovered how specific chromatin modifiers regulate transcriptional silencing. Upon establishing my independent team at ReNEW , I applied my insight from functional epigenomics and developmental biology to an emerging field of epi-metabolomics, the study of how metabolic pathways shape chromatin status of cells. In the long term, I wish to provide detailed mechanistic understanding of how the embryo interacts with its uterine environment.
