Mattia studied for their bachelor and masters at University of Milan. They then took a PhD at University College London under the supervision of Giulio Cossu and Saverio Tedesco. After a fist post-doc at Harvard University working with Harald Ott, they returned to the UK as Marie Curie fellow under the mentoring of Paolo De Coppi at UCL. Mattia was recently appointed as Assistant Professor at UCL, where they lead the Laboratory for Amniotic Fluid cell biology and translation.
