Associate Professor Bryony Nayagam is a Principal Research Fellow and Group Leader in the Centre for Stem Cell Systems, at the University of Melbourne. A major focus of Bryony’s research is to better understand the sensory biology of hearing and vestibular function, including preventing the loss of key sensory cell types following damage to the inner ear. Her key publications in the field include some of the first reports transplanting pluripotent stem cells into the inner ear, and later, the functional differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into numerous inner ear phenotypes.
