Staff Scientist
National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke
Tongguang Wang, M.D./Ph.D. is a staff scientist and the director of the Neural Differentiation Unit, Translational Neuroscience Center in National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NIH, Bethesda, Maryland USA. He has been studying the roles of inflammation in neurological disorders such as Parkinsons and Multiple sclerosis. Currently, Dr. Wang’s work is focused on developing 2D and 3D neural differentiation models using iPSCs and induced neural stem cells derived from minimum patient blood samples to study the mechanism of neural development and the pathogenesis of neural disorders, especially on delineating the genetic and epigenetic modifications leading to motor neuron degeneration.
