Cheng-Kui Qu, MD, PHD, is a professor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Qu has dedicated his career to experimental hematology and directed an independent laboratory focused on the investigation of normal blood cell development and leukemogenesis for more than two decades. His particular area of interest lies in protein and lipid phosphatases. By studying these phosphatases (PTPN11/SHP-2, PTPN6/SHP-1, PTPN21, MIP/MTMR14, and PTPMT1), his work has contributed considerably to unraveling the intricate mechanisms governing cell signaling, metabolic processes, and biomechanical regulation, both in the context of normal hematopoiesis and in the development of leukemia. Over the past ten years, his work has been published in Nature, Nature Metabolism, Nature Cell Biology, Cell Stem Cell (x2), Blood (x7), Journal of Experimental Medicine, Science Advances (x2), Science Signaling, PNAS, Cell Reports, Leukemia, Blood Advances, eLife, etc. Additionally, he has invested substantial time and effort in collaborative research, making significant contributions to the success of many projects.
